Wie schon im Artikel zur Holzfassade erwähnt, ist die Dämmung in der Fensterlaibung alles andere als gerade verbaut worden. Das wäre bei einer Putzfassade wahrscheinlich garnicht aufgefallen, jedoch sieht man bei unserer vertikalen Holzfassade wirklich jeden Millimeter, der nicht genau horizontal bzw. waagerecht korrekt ausgerichtet ist.

Für die Fenstereinrahmung haben wir das gleich Holz wie für die Fassade verwendet und die einzelnen Elemente, so weit wie es ging, vorgefertigt, d.h. zugesägt und auf ein Trägerholz mit der obligatorischen Fuge von 10mm geschraubt. 
Das klappte auch bis das erste Fenster mit den schiefen Dämmung in der Laibung anstand. Hier galt es den Rahmen Stück für Stück anzupassen. Mal reichte es, das Fassadenholz einen Zentimeter dünner zu sägen, mal musste aber auch aufgedoppelt werden. Gerade diese Anpassungen haben enorm aufgehalten, wobei sich der Aufwand im EG noch in Grenzen hielt. Etwas schwieriger wurde es im Obergeschoß. Denn zunächst galt es, die Fassade an der Oberkante des Fensters gerade und vor allem in der Waage zu kürzen.

In gut fünf Metern Arbeitsöhe auf einer Leiter eine Handkreissäge an einer Schiene zu führen, daran  war natürlich mit Blick auf die Arbeitssicherheit nicht zu denken. So wurde kurzerhand eine mobile Arbeitsbühne gemietet, mit deren Hilfe man sicher von Aussen an den Fenstern arbeiten konnte. Letztendlich haben wir gut 14 Tage gebraucht, um dieses Projetzt abzuschließen.
Mit den fertig montierten Fensterrahmen hat sich auch die Aussenansicht des Hauses nochmal stark verändert. Jetzt wirkt die Fassade nicht wie aufgesetzt, sondern als massiver Bestandteil des Hauses.
